WRITING
Writing was my first love. It began as a means of telling make-believe stories, a way for the tales in my head to spill onto pages. My love of fiction has spawned countless projects, including short stories, novels, comics, screenplays, and even poems.
Poetry, however, is a writing form I typically reserve for true events. Through spoken word, I attempt to aptly name the undiscussed hardships and pleasures of existence. Due to some life-altering experiences with my body in recent years, my poetic work has come to focus on the mind-body connection, chronic pain, and emotional healing.
I hope you find meaning in each project you encounter here. From the most vulnerable poems to the most outlandish tales, may these words transport you somewhere you’ve never been… or somewhere you’d long forgotten. You can find individual stories and poems on Substack.
The Dreams and Deaths of Monsters (2024)
An immortal man is trapped on the ocean floor. A crew of pirates invade a vampire's castle. A skeleton teaches a boy the secrets of the undead. A siren falls in love with a king. Enter a dark and mysterious world as you read these obscure tales, spanning across various genres and styles, written over the course of five years.
Beach House (2021)
Nicole and Kyle, a young couple from New York, head to a secluded beach for some vacation time. Upon settling in, they discover a group of cloaked figures ominously gathering on the beach. Who are these mysterious men and women? Why have they made the beach their permanent home? And what happened to the past renters of the beach house?
Chasing Dragons (2020)
This collection of poetry, written throughout 2019 and 2020, was my first entry into the realm of self-reflective writing. While many of these poems are experimental and short-form, they helped me find my voice and begin developing my signature style as a spoken word poet.
